Mary Magdalene on Discipline to Achieve Commitment

[This is another example of asking one of the Masters for advice regarding a particular spiritual topic that arises … and they never disappoint! 😉 — Rob]

Rob: I’m envisioning myself at the entrance to the cave where Mary Magdalene retreated after the death of Yeshua, in southern France, up on a mountain overlooking the valley.

Mary, I’m wondering if you have any message about what it takes about your experience or what we could all learn from your experience making the shift to the point of pure commitment.

I see her. Her hair is almost red. Very gentle nature.

Mary Magdalene: Welcome, Rob, to my humble abode, this place of refuge. It served the purpose … not particularly how I wanted to live out the rest of my life with my beloved Sarah, but again, it served the purpose. And understand we were not alone. There was a group of us.

So, to your question, this question of discipline in order to achieve the commitment. It seems like an obvious answer, but it comes down to feeling it in your heart, making the total commitment to Love. It can be love of an individual, love of an ideal, but loving to the extent that you give yourself over to it completely — no reservations.

Just as when you are learning to channel requires a complete surrender of yourself to the other, achieving that Sacred Union to allow another to come through you, it’s no different — a little bit of a different level, but at the end of the day, it’s no different. It’s all a commitment to a Sacred Union.

The discipline can come in many forms. My particular favorite is the enactment of ritual. It helped me, and it helped so many others, develop that discipline. Committing yourself to doing a particular ritual — the same thing every time — is, in itself, an act of discipline. But not to the point of just doing it in some rote way. You have to feel it … again, from your heart. Commit yourself to understand why you are doing each act within the ritual itself, what it means, why it’s important, to help you get to that place of total surrender.
