Our team of soul-friends is excited to announce the opening of our FREE virtual Spirit Cafe on Saturday July 8th at 11 am Eastern. We are calling to all of you who are interested in having conversations with us about all kinds of spiritual things: things you are curious about, things you wonder about, things you have heard about – but don’t know if they are true. You may be like us and have spiritual concepts, authors or teachers you feel passionate about but have few if any others you can discuss them with. Maybe you trust certain channels but feel funny about others. Welcome to Spirit Cafe! It’s for all of us… open-minded and curious, but also capable of of discernment, of feeling into the energy of truth by applying the litmus test of love.
The idea for Spirit Cafe came about when we realized just how much we enjoyed talking with each other in our team meetings about aspects of consciousness, ways of growing our perceptions and wisdom, and all things loosely called “spiritual” –from ETs to meditation practices. I’ve always been interested in spiritual matters, starting with reading Siddhartha (Herman Hesse’s story of Gautama Buddha’s life) and proceeding to explore the metaphysical studies of Theosophy. My fascination with channeled material began in my late teens when I discovered the work of Edgar Cayce, called America’s “Sleeping Prophet”. His channeled information, while in trance, about the actual life of Jesus was mind-blowing and life-altering for me.
An intense curiosity about all aspects of spirituality has cycled in and out of “the box” of traditional religion in my life… for years I would reconnect over and over to the Christianity of my childhood, with deep devotion and sheer elation, until I would bump up against some dogma I couldn’t believe, or some interpretation of God that seemed too limited, then I would leave the current church and go exploring again: Machu Picchu, Soviet Parapsychology, Yogananda, Carlos Castaneda and Lynn V. Andrews, the community at Findhorn, Meher Baba, The Cathars, The Essenes, Ram Dass, the Hathors, etc. etc. etc.
Books led to life adventures, doors opened and closed, windows slammed shut and blew open, worm holes led to Oz and the Emerald City, the 9th dimension and Shambala and Heaven. I read and read and read… and only had my two sisters to share with, passing books back and forth surreptitiously avoiding our mother’s scoffing and eye-rolling.
Many of us come from families with an abundance of rational thinking, with little respect for intuition, a sixth sense, or spiritual wisdom. Our world at large favors science over faith, and calls the spirituality I have so passionately studied all my life “Woo Woo”. What a putdown! Practically a synonym for “foolish”. And yet, despite a first-class education from some of the nation’s top schools, that education, mostly bereft of wonder, compassion and spiritual connection, left me confused and depressed.
The truly most valuable education I have received in all my seventy years has come through the intuitive, devotional practice of channeling. Reading the messages of the Prophet, Emmanuel, Bartholomew, Jeshua, even the Pleiadians, my heart was leaping! My mind was lit up like a stadium! I have the deepest gratitude for all of the channels that braved the scorn and derision of the world to bring forward messages of what has always feel like the wisest and most loving counsel available on Earth. Too many wondrous channelers, too numerous to list here, I will have to save those names for the book I want to write some day about all of my spiritual adventures.
It was a lonely journey until I met Rob and Sue and Adrienne and Paul, through a webinar course offered by the Council of Love. We were put into a small group, and couldn’t believe our good fortune! Thanking our lucky stars, our guides and our favorite Masters, we have continued to play together over the Zoom waves and chat on spiritual topics to our hearts’ content. We don’t always see things the same way, but we always let our deep respect and affection for each other (cultivated over numerous lifetimes, no doubt) carry the day, and the outcome of our conversations always leads to more.
